The Quay Theatre in Sudbury is a great place to visit and just 9 minute away from The Grove Cottages , a cosy little theater with a great atmosphere and great chatty bar where you can mix with the actors afterwards.

The New Woolsey theater at Ipswich very often has good productions running.
